J Bar B’s dedication to taste, quality, and variety began in 1959 when Felix and Billie Mae Janecka started producing their family’s Czechoslovakian sausage recipe in Cistern, Texas. For generations since, the Janecka family has stood for the very best in sausage and specialty meat products for the retail and food service industries.

J Bar B Foods traces its roots to a small, independent grocery store in Cistern, Texas where Billie Mae and Felix Janecka hand-cranked their family-recipe sausage and sold it to friends and neighbors.
After Hurricane Carla destroyed their small family farm in 1961, they moved to Waelder, Texas, where they began producing their famous “Czech” sausage full time.
Danny Janecka grew up processing pork, stuffing sausage, and spending days and nights in the smokehouses of J Bar B Foods. In 1979, the leadership of the company was passed to him.
J Bar B Foods was featured in Meat Marketing & Technology (MMT) magazine for implementing new technology in its production process. Townsend Engineering’s “QX” co-extrusion technology created many new opportunities for J Bar B Foods.
The ability for J Bar B Foods to produce a multitude of formulas, hundreds of items, and up to two million pounds per day in its Waelder and Weimer locations earned a feature in The National Provisioner magazine.
J Bar B is the largest sausage producer in Texas and has its sights set on becoming the nation’s leader in sausage and specialty food.
